Over the last twenty or so years, gaming has gone through so many reinventions and evolutions that I often wonder what’d happen if someone from the eighties could just have a glimpse at the standard it’s gotten to these days; would they even survive the experience, or would the jump be so huge that it actually set their brain on fire? Obviously, we’ll never know.
This get’s me to wondering. What’s it going to be like in another twenty years? Technology is developing so rapidly and aggressively that I imagine the difference will be exponential.
So, I decided to try and think forward to present you with my nine outlandish predictions for the future of gaming. So let’s jump right into it, eh?

I actually quite liked ODST :(
Tupac’s hologram was a projected image on a stretched out transparent film. Not a real hologram, just the appearance of one.
^ This. Yet he criticizes today’s 3D technology for the same thing.

No. 7 is nowhere near outlandish though which you kind of addressed. The eventual phasing out of all physical items is a process that’s already stomping along. Digital content by way of DRM are a win/win for companies if they can keep the hackers at bay.
Keep them at least enough that they are still earning quite the bit of proffit.
