With the 3D sequel rumoured to appear on the Switch eShop soon, now is a good time to try the original, 2D title, that was originally released on PC in 2013. Released for Switch in 2018 without any warning and hardly any announcement, this roguelike platformer challenges you until you win, or until you die and have to return to the very beginning; starting from scratch.

With a wealth of unlockables, a retro pixel-art style, and an acclaimed soundtrack, Risk of Rain will keep you entertained and tested while fighting on the mysterious planet that you find yourself stranded on.

Risk of Rain also gives players the option to play online co-op with up to three others; just in case you would rather not face the fight on your own.

Defeating randomly spawning enemies and bosses, you must find teleportation devices on each game level in order to reach your ship, and escape the foreign planet you find yourself on. If you can claim it back from the aliens who destroyed it, that is.
