10 Reasons You're Wrong About Star Wars: Battlefront 2

10. The Lootbox Controversy Is SO Last Year

Undoubtedly one of the biggest issues facing DICE's sequel is the fact that, even though they've managed to change the game's fortunes around, general perception from the public is still informed by that initial controversy from November 2017, just before the game launched.

Although micro-transactions have returned to Battlefront II, multiplayer is by no means play-to-win. They can only be used to acquire cosmetics, and progression has been completely revamped, rewarding players for investing time in a given class as opposed to the random frustration induced by periodic lootbox drops.

One thing people seem to forget is that Battlefront II released without microtransactions, and that the issues with acquiring enough credits to purchase key heroes like Luke Skywalker were addressed in a day-one patch. Yes, progression was still an issue for months after release, but it's important to remember that the features the game was originally written-off for were never actually included at launch.

No one should be patting EA on the back for backing down on an obviously dreadful idea, but equally, players should be aware of the fact that Battlefront II never released with the elements it was lambasted for in the first place.
