10 Ridiculous Gaming Rumours That Were Total Lies

9. All Bonds Mode - Goldeneye

Goldeneye It's little surprise that, given the continued popularity of Goldeneye as one of the greatest console FPS games ever made, it's been privy to countless rumours, myths and whatnot over the years. The Secret Base rumour can't be included here because, though it has to be accessed by way of a cheat, it is reachable (and empty, disappointingly), so I've opted for the 24th cheat instead. There are 23 well-known cheat codes for Goldeneye, and because the cheats are displayed in the Cheat Menu in two rows of 12, it appears as though there is naturally room for one more. There were many rumours as to what the 24th cheat was, though my personal favourite is the All Bonds Mode, given how plausible it actually sounds. All Bonds Mode would allow you to play as the previous James Bonds in the multiplayer mode, and Electronic Gaming Monthly Magazine - who are notorious for their April Fools Pranks every year - only helped the spread by posting doctored images of various Bonds appearing in the game. As it turns out, this was complete bunk.
