10. STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM! The Elder Scrolls Series
Both Oblivion and Skyrim of the Elder Scrolls series feature some fantastically over-the-top voice acting and both games have become well known for one line in particular. In Skyrim, we were bombarded so often by guards telling us how they used to be an adventurer (we dont even have to finish the sentence; you all know exactly how it ends) that it drove us to the brink of insanity. Older brother Oblivion features a line thats heard almost as frequently (especially if your player character is a bit of a scumbag) but its far more entertaining, particularly due to an incredibly dramatic voice performance. Its almost worth being seen stealing something to have a guard come up to you and call you criminal scum; theres something so beautifully medieval about the insult. To top it off, the incredibly passive look on their faces contradicts the highly aggressive tone of voice beautifully; its almost impossible not to laugh. Resisting arrest will also see the guard announce that you will PAY WITH YOUR BLOOD! Honestly, whoever voiced these guards should be a millionaire by now; theyre a comedy genius.
