10 Story-Based Shooters That Were Better Than BioShock Infinite

8. Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30

Brothers in Arms: RTH30 In a time when World War II shooters were 10-a-penny, Road to Hill 30 marked itself out by telling a human story. Gone were the bombastic and implausible firefights, instead replaced with the heartbreaking tale of a real life band of brothers, and their attempts to do their small part in a horrific and much larger battle. To this day I can remember the name of every single member of my squad, and the authenticity of the of their emotions and reactions to my (sometimes questionable) orders during the heat of actual battles from 1944. The weight of responsibility means you take things slow, and even though their fates are written in stone, you can't help but do your futile best to try and get them home to their wives and children. It also introduced a suppression mechanic 7 years before Battlefield 3, fact fans.
