10 Things Uncharted 4 Already Does Better Than Quantum Break

10. Outstanding Visual Presentation & Animation

Naughty Dog have always been at the forefront of rendering technology through pure coding skill, prioritising that initial wow factor that comes with mastering every aspect of visual design. As such, from day one, Uncharted fired out the gates and established itself as the best-looking title on Sony's hardware, a reputation that through some stunningly lifelike cutscenes and in-game, Uncharted 4 carries forward.

The entire cast's facial animations look eerily realistic, to the point where the entire production has a level of visual fidelity that easily elevates it over every other title on the market. The nearest comparison is Halo 5's facial tech, and even that doesn't have tiny expressional ticks or minor movements that truly make character models come alive.

On Quantum Break's side, facial animations jarringly transition from one to the other, whilst character models both in-game and out are serviceable, rather than being noteworthy. In addition, there's a strange, blurry filter applied to everything that immediately gives it a dreamlike feel. However, whilst you could argue this is to factor into some story revelation or a stylistic choice, it's distracting and completely unnecessary by the game's end.

The standout feature is the time powers, and therein lies a whizzbang extravaganza of redirecting bullets and suspending explosions in mid-air - it's just not enough to give Quantum the outright visual knockout punch it needs to win this first round.
