10 Things WWE 2K17 Needs More Than Goldberg

Goldberg is cool, but he better not be all 2K17 has to shout about...

Check the hashtag #Hatch on Twitter, and prepare to be met with a whole load of messages expressing disappointment. WWE's latest social media campaign was designed to add intrigue over what exactly #Hatch meant, with many speculating that the company were finally going to reveal Bray Wyatt's 'Sister Abigail'.

Others felt it would herald the return of a huge star, which it did, albeit in digital form. The whole thing was simply smoke and mirrors, WWE revealed on Monday Night Raw that #Hatch referred to the inclusion of Goldberg as a pre-order bonus for WWE 2K17. Cue huge disappointment on social media.

The ability to play as a 'special' bonus star is nothing new to 2K's WWE series, but there's so much more the game needs before Goldberg. As great as it is to see the WCW legend on the playable roster, he was included in 2K14, which was under 3 years ago.

WWE games need certain features to help make them fun again, and that's what this list focuses on. 2K certainly have to concentrate on other aspects of the title, before gamers are fully satisfied that 2K17 is a must-buy.

Let's look at what WWE 2K17 really needs...

10. A Graphical Overhaul

In 2016, there's no excuse for graphics not being totally on point in video games. Sadly, WWE games appear to be using many of the same foundations that grounded the series over a decade ago. For example, hair just doesn't look natural, sitting atop the heads of characters rather than flowing realistically.

Absolutely everything needs to shine, this is a WWE product after all. The company have worked hard to eradicate unnecessary glitches from their televised output, making shows relatively flawless from a production standpoint. So, why can't the promotion's video game titles benefit from that same doting love and attention?

Several characters in 2K16 just didn't look good, lifeless facial animation and plastic hair combining to make them more akin to zombies than real people. There's no excuse for that, and it must be sorted out in time for 2K17.

When players pop a WWE game into their gaming system of choice, they want to see the best. 2K have a job on their hands, but everything has to be perfect graphically when the next game lands on shelves.
