10 Time-Consuming Video Games Nobody Ever Finished

Where a few hundred hours is only scratching the surface.

These days, the measure of value for a video game is how much of your time it can continuously demand. While games like The Order: 1886 may have asked us to shell out £50 for something that barely scratches ten hours, there are a ton that offer so much more than that.

In fact, it's not even uncommon for some titles to demand too much time from their players. With completionists seeking perfection, an experience that wants you to reach some sort of 100% resolution can be a bit of a thorn in the side.

Far be it for consumers to complain about too much of a good thing, however. Instead, why not celebrate these games that never seem to stop giving even after hundreds of hours of play? We may never be able to reach total completion for one reason or another, but at least we can have all kinds of fun as we carry on and on.

For better or worse, here are 10 time-consuming video games that no one will ever finish playing.

10. Assassin's Creed: Unity

When the series arrived in 2007, Assassin's Creed was met pretty favourably by reviewers and players alike. Then, as new protagonist Ezio was introduced, it really came into its own, growing stronger which each new entry. Fresh ideas were on offer in each new instalment, but after a while these became a bit muddled.

By the time Assassin's Creed: Unity came around, Ubisoft had apparently reached the point where they were content with the series' formula to throw it back together in a recycled bundle. All of the classic Assassin's Creed tropes were crammed into one package, and players were thrown in to see how much they could work through.

While you may have been just patient enough to get to the end of the main story, the chances that you ever explored every secret of the Parisian playground are very slim, mainly because Unity's map was one of the busiest and overcrowded in history. Hidden items and challenges were on every corner, alleyway and main street, and getting to everything in this game was a task far too demanding for mere mortals like us.
