10 Unannounced Video Game Sequels We Can't Wait To See

Far Cry 4 With the release of the next-gen consoles ever drawing closer, gamers everywhere are anticipating the next instalments for their favourite franchises - revitalised on a beautiful HD engine. Unfortunately, many have been left in suspense as to whether their beloved series will continue, some even losing hope altogether. There are dozens of franchises gamers can't wait to see return, with so many classic games that pre-date even the PlayStation 1 that are still held close to their hearts. Although, sequels to more modern franchises are also high in demand - and rightly so - as it is far more likely that game developers will still be running under full operation and have access to sufficient funding due to more widespread publicity. This list contains ten video game sequels that have not been officially announced - though some have been teased and hinted at - but are strongly desired by many gamers. With recent announcements and teases such as Half-Life 3, Mirror's Edge 2, Star Wars: Battlefront 3 and Kingdom Hearts 3, thousands of dreams have already come true - however there are still plenty of unannounced sequels we cannot wait to see.

10. F-Zero

The Wii U excited many Nintendo fans upon its release, inspiring hope that old franchises might return in glorious HD. Of course, the usual Nintendo franchises had their releases - there was no doubt in anyone's mind that we would be seeing more Mario and Zelda games arriving, but old-school Nintendo fans have been left wondering where other favourites such as Metroid and F-Zero have disappeared to. Thanks to new innovations such as touch and motion technology, Nintendo franchises - like Mario - have been able to evolve, expanding their potential. Fans therefore questions why the same technology has not been applied to other Nintendo classics, in particular F-Zero GX. A sequel - or even simply a HD remake - would satisfy thousands of Nintendo gamers and a game like F-Zero GX could really benefit from the Wii U's potential. Motion control could allow for a more high-octane, futuristic 'Mario Kart Wii' experience and maps and statistics could be displayed on the gamepad screen. It's easy to argue that franchises like F-Zero and even Star Fox are now dated, but if an old, pixelated side-scrolling game like Mario can still be the most popular of its kind to this day, then other classics certainly deserve an honourable HD update.
