BioWare's new open-world online multiplayer action RPG looks like...just about every other soulless open-world shooter you've ever played.

Sure, it'll probably be a slick and confident product, but the key emphasis here is on the word product, rather than a compelling experience that's conceived out of a creative spark of some kind.

From what we've seen so far, it looks like a pretty uninspired spin in the same squad-based action wheelhouse as Destiny 2, which itself plays host to a whole world of problems.

More to the point, BioWare's last game, Mass Effect: Andromeda, was a colossal disappointment, and given EA's track record of cravenly chasing money at all costs, it's hard to imagine Anthem could end up a pleasant surprise.

And if all that's not enough, it doesn't even have PVP at launch. Baffling.
