10 Upcoming Video Games Bioshock Fans Will LOVE

Keeping the spirit of Rapture alive.

Expertly blending elements of survival horror with themes of hysteria and dystopia, 2007's Bioshock evoked a very powerful sense of fear in players as they sought to escape a flooding, ruined underwater city, rife with murder and madness.

Despite the first game’s success, the series only spawned two other sequels, neither of which would reach the same level of acclaim as the first. Bioshock 2 is often viewed as an unnecessary continuation of the original's story, and 2013’s Bioshock Infinite is thought to be too complex for its own good.

Yet, no amount of subsequent playthroughs of these games can satiate series fans, and lovers of the cities of Rapture and Columbia have started searching elsewhere for their cerebral sci-fi shooting fix.

Though it seems a fourth Bioshock is actually in development, it could be years until that projects begins to surface. However, series devotees need not fret, as there are tons of upcoming games that could scratch the itch we're all feeling from years of plasmid withdrawal.

10. The Blackout Club

Question Games

The Blackout Club is an upcoming co-op survival horror title by Question Games, a studio headed by Jordan Thomas, one of the leading developers behind Bioshock 2, Dishonored and the 2014 Thief reboot.

The game looks to be a strange mix of Dishonored-esque stealth combined with the co-op survival mechanics of games like Dead by Daylight or the Friday the 13th game. Taking inspiration from the film The Goonies, a small group of players will be tasked with hunting down and gathering evidence against a strange entity haunting an otherwise typical suburban town.

Though there doesn’t seem to be any undersea horrors or Randian ideologs in The Blackout Club, the game won’t be short on suspense or terror. Something is clearly wrong in the game’s deceptively quiet little town, and, though we won’t have a solid idea of what players will be up against until the game releases in 2019, it’s certainly guaranteed to be downright petrifying.

The Blackout Club may be a departure from the shock series, but longtime fans of those games will doubtlessly be able to recognize the similarities once the game becomes available to everyone sometime next year.
