10 Upcoming Video Games That Risk Flying Under The Radar

Excited for these? You might be the only one of the few.

The next year in gaming looks absolutely jam-packed full of quality releases. With the end of the current gaming generation coming up, developers are going all out for the next few years to make sure they have as much of an impact as possible.

With so many games coming out from publishers both big and small, there are inevitably a lot of titles that risk flying under the radar; not getting as much media attention as they probably deserve.

This is especially true of this year, where we've got hugely anticipated games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Marvel's Spider-Man taking up two of the biggest months.

With games like that, how can anything else compete?

Just to be perfectly clear here- none of the games on this list are bad, or deserve a lack of attention. Almost all of these games have the potential to be amazing, and we'd love to be proven wrong on this one.

Having said that, if things don't pick up for these titles, there's a pretty big chance that they'll be better known for not getting the attention they truly deserve.

10. Psychonauts 2

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider
Double Fine

For fans of the first game, this is one of the most exciting games coming next year. For everyone else, it's crowdfunded history is a huge flag.

To put it simply, people don't want another Yooka-Laylee situation.

Although a lot of people paid up to see the game being made, Psychonauts has always been a bit of a niche game. Even though it's an amazing title full of smart ideas, it's never been the sort of game to capture everyone's attention, and you could argue that crowdfunding it has only made that a bigger problem.

Double Fine's history with crowd-funding also doesn't help matters all that much. With rumours on how the money was being spent with Broken Age, people are rightfully concerned that even with all of the money contributed, we won't be seeing Psychonauts 2 live up to its full potential.

It doesn't help that we haven't really seen anything concrete from the game yet either. We've seen bits of developer gameplay and behind the scenes footage, but there hasn't been a proper trailer or mental world shown yet, and that certainly raises some concerns.

Let's hope that we see more Psychonauts 2 before the year ends.
