1. Bioshock Infinite

The stand alone game was already close to perfect, yet 'Bioshock Infinite's DLC showcased how additional content can bring out the best of what it's already got, as well as providing even more that's just as good. 'Clash of the Clouds' may have pushed the flawless combat system to it's limits, but the final Bioshock still had more to amaze us with.

Acting as both a new story and a conclusion to the original, Bioshock Infinite's 'Burial at Sea' brought our beloved Booker and Elizabeth back to us, albeit in the sunken world of Rapture. For the first time we could truly explore a pre-ruined Rapture; in all it's art deco style splendour.

So far so improved, you may think, yet the second chapter of Burial at Sea truly gave audiences something fresh. Now controlling Elizabeth, players were forced to take on a stealth based style of gameplay, with unique powers apt for the drastic change in tone.

Alas, all good things must end. After harrowing twists and shock revelations we were forced to say goodbye to Bioshock Infinite once more. But even if it was bittersweet Burial at Sea showed the world what DLC should always be; ultimately worth your time.
