10 Video Game Moments Everyone Misunderstood As Kids

9. Healed By... A Prostitute?! - The Legend Of Zelda II: Adventures Of Link

This actually isn’t the only time a helpful prostitute pops up on this list, but at least here everything is very subtle. One of those moments that kids would be so oblivious to, that when they realise the truth as adults they feel a little silly for having missed it in the first place.

Zelda II: Adventures Of Link is arguably one of the weaker Zelda games out there, but this adult joke ensured it had at least one memorable moment.

In the game, healing is performed by mysterious women in red. These ladies in scarlet dresses take you into their huts, and when you come out, you’re healed. Plenty of games feature bed rest as a healing mechanic, but there could be something else going on here.

Is Link getting some sexual healing?

The graphics were obviously nowhere near as polished as Breath Of The Wild, but it’s still clear these are supposed to be pretty ladies. The red dresses are often a symbol of sexuality, too.

A rather adventurous Link, indeed.
