One of the most depressing things about getting older isn't your receding hairline or all those responsibilities you didn't have as a kid, but the fact that there's less time to just sit around in your underwear and binge a good video game. However, every now and then a game comes along that just begs to be played in one go, whether you're 15 years old or 55 (and need to call in "sick"). Some of these games were highly anticipated sequels, while others were wildly innovative original IPs, but each commanded our attention and demanded that we blast through them in one uninterrupted sitting. Some of the games were designed for short, single playthroughs, others were relaxing and easy to play continuously, whereas some were just so addictive that, in spite of their length, we couldn't bring ourselves to put the controller down. We got in beer, snacks and abandoned usual standards of hygiene for the day, settling in for the long haul. Though there certainly are those out there who may have spent 25 straight hours playing through Grand Theft Auto V on release day, we've opted to avoid games that realistically can't be beaten without sleep.
