10 Video Games That Totally Ruined Gaming For Everyone

Nothing compares to your first time.

Ever have one of those moments where you're sitting, post-whatever final act you did that triggered the credits, completely awash with total adoration for the game you've just clocked, simply knowing you'll not get another experience like that in years - if ever? Some games are so masterfully put together, so meticulously hand-crafted in every aspect - and occasionally compiled through sheer right place/right time luck - that it makes for a finished product even the development team can never replicate. It's why so many titles nail their concepts first time round and stumble on the second, and why so many copycats come out trying in vein to ape their influencer's success, only to barely hold up by comparison. Like some exquisite specimen of the opposite sex who you almost go the distance with only for things to fall apart at the last minute; you've tasted true unequivocal perfection, but it's also ruined everything that comes afterwards. And with the games industry seemingly incapable of creating an original property that lands with the same bang that the likes of Final Fantasy VII, Zelda's Ocarina of Time or Metal Gear Solid did back in the day, it's making more and more gamers look to the past for a time when innovative creations were popping up in every direction. What games for you hold an unbelievably high position, so much so that it'll take the programming talents of the messiah himself to wow you otherwise? Let us know in the comments, and if you agree with these 10 candidates too.
