10 Video Games That Were ROBBED At The Game Awards 2018

The Game Awards 2018 got a lot right... and a whole lot wrong.

Every year Geoff Keighley manages to organise The Game Awards, and to his credit, every year is better than the last.

The Game Awards 2018 was a fantastic show that purred like a Tesla across its three-plus hour runtime. That said, 2018 was one of the greatest ever years in gaming and, as such, it was inevitable a few titles would get snubbed at the show.

While there are dozens of awards handed out, masterpieces like Red Dead Redemption 2 and God of War raked most of them in, while a few other terrific experiences flew a little under-the-radar. Of course, not every game can be recognised, and there are no awards for simply existing, but we want to take a look at the best games of 2018 that were robbed of an award or two.

From AAA epic's to creative VR titles, these are the 10 games we feel were unfortunately overlooked at The Game Awards 2018!

10. Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

Spider Man Game Awards
Ubisoft

Odyssey is, arguably, the pinnacle of the Assassin's Creed franchise to date. It's more than a little unfortunate then that it didn't win any awards on Thursday night.

A sprawling Greek epic that gives players unprecedented choice and freedom in the series, the latest AC is a fantastic game polished to high heaven, and one that very well could have won the coveted game of the year award in years past.

Odyssey was nominated for four awards; Best Action/Adventure Game, Best Art Direction, Best Performance for Melissanthi Mahut as Kassandra, and the Game of the Year. Unforunately for Odyssey and Ubisoft, the game justifiably lost each of those categories to God of War, Return of the Obra Dinn, Roger Clark as Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, and God of War, respectively.

It was a banner year for the Assassin's Creed franchise, but poor timing, as it was a banner year for others as well.
