100 Greatest Video Game Villains Of All Time

65. The Ghosts - Pac-Man

Pac-man Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde might just be the most instantly recognisable villains of all time, despite the fact that they never had a backstory or a reason to constantly hunt down Pac-Man. The Ghosts were so dangerous that they could kill Pac-Man instantly just by touching him, unless of course he had picked up a large pill to turn the tables on them.

64. Kane - Command And Conquer

Kane Kane is considered a charismatic and brilliant sociopath, although his followers actually think the opposite, believing him to be a holy figure and occasionally naming him as a Messiah. He is the mastermind behind the Brotherhood of Nod society and there is a tradition that equates him with the Cain of the bible, who was the world's first ever murderer, explaining why he is so good at it now.

63. Sin - Final Fantasy X

Sin A gigantic whale-like creature whose only instinct is to protect the dream Zanarkand. Sin could only be killed by a summoner's guardian becoming the final aeon, although they would then become Sin themselves. The story of Final Fantasy X was particularly moving because Sin was in fact Tidus's father, Jecht, who had sacrificed himself as Braska's guardian, who had also tasked Auron with protecting Tidus.

62. Blackmore - The Suffering: Ties That Bind

Blackmore Blackmore was the drug lord of Baltimore, and was inexplicably tied to Torque. Whilst his subordinates usually perform his business, he always becomes personally involved if Torque himself is at the heart of the work. Towards the end of the game it is revealed that Blackmore is actually Torque himself, taking over his body whenever he suffers from his black-outs, as he did when Torque's family were murdered.

61. Rhapthorne - Dragon Quest: Journey Of The Cursed King

Rhapthorne Early in the game the magician Dhoulmagus seems to be the central antagonist, but upon his defeat it is revealed that he was possessed by Rhapthorne all along. Able to possess anyone through his sceptre, even Jessica who nearly kills someone under it's influence. Rhapthorne was a demon of untold legend and although he had power in the world of darkness, he wanted the world of light too.
