12 Hugely Delayed Video Games (That Ended Up Sucking)

Those games we avidly anticipated, only to find that the final product was a wretched pile of garbage.

It is truly a historic day, what with the news that Ubisoft's Watch Dogs, which was originally schedule to be released on November 19th but was incredulously delayed just weeks before that date, finally has an apparently solid release date of May 27th. The 6-month-plus delay is nothing new in the gaming industry, with titles often enduring a lengthy (and costly) developmental process in order to iron out bugs and solve harder-than-expected programming challenges. In the case of Watch Dogs, many suspect the delay was in order to polish the game and distance itself from the release of Grand Theft Auto V, but whatever the reasoning, hopefully we'll have a Game of the Year candidate on May 27th, even if renewing enthusiasm among gamers may prove challenging. Delaying a game is absolutely the right thing to do if it results in a better end title, but what about those long-delayed games that absolutely weren't worth the wait? Those games where we avidly anticipated their release, only to find that the final product was a wretched pile of garbage, a monument to how spectacularly video game developers can waste immense time and money on a buggy, lazy, sometimes seemingly unfinished game, destined to be remembered only for its awfulness. Alright, so not all the games on this list are that bad, but each without fail was a major disappointment, and failed to live up to the expectations only built further by the huge delays in development. As usual, feel free to add your own suggestions in the comments, and if you share a different opinion on any of these games, please voice it below.
