11. Void Bastards
This is an excellent mash-up of Bioshock, Borderlands (more on that later) and an edgy comic book style, with classic arcade hit points. Void Bastards is a strategy-shooter being developed by Blue Manchu, and released by Humble Bundle.
As a space convict, your mission is to lead the Void Bastards gang out of the Sargasso Nebula.
Every time you die, you restart as a new character with different attributes (be warned - there are positives and negatives). Board scrapyard spaceships to scavenge valuable supplies. The game features a crafting menu to improve your weapons and tools, a resource management system and a navigation menu to plot your course through uncharted space systems. Use dynamic environments and hilarious weapon mods to your tactical advantage.
The level design is very reminiscent of the Kyln prison from Guardians Of The Galaxy.
Full of goofy humour and an eye-catching art style, Void Bastards is a nutty alternative to the average space-shooter.
