12 Things You Didn't Know You Could Do With Your PS4

3. Use More Than Just The Official Headset

Speaking of headsets, the PlayStation 4 is great in that it supports a wide range of peripherals outside of just the official Sony offerings. This extends to any gaming headsets you might own, as just about every headset on the market works on the PlayStation 4. This extends to voice chat as well as the audio, and optical out works exactly the same as it did on the PlayStation 3. It's even possible to just plug a headset or headphones into your DualShock 4's headphone port if you're lacking in cable length. To set up your third-party headset, just go into Settings, then Sound and Screen. In Audio Output Settings, you can select Output To Headphones and select the All Audio option.
