13 Infamous Mis-Steps That Ruined Iconic Gaming Characters

11. Bomberman: Act Zero

Bomber Man is a funny little character. With a block head and weird bomb like spheres for hands and feet, he's a weird man whose body is composed of bombs. His design is typical of the cartoon characters that come out of Japan, and his the way he looked very much channelled the spirit of the games he appeared in. His games are simplistic in their concepts; run around a maze and blow things up to solve puzzles whilst avoiding getting caught in the fire of your own explosions. You don't really need any more story or logic than that, but then that was the pleasure of the games. But then, unthinkably, the developers stripped away all Bomberman's cuteness and made Bomber Man Act Zero a gritty realistic game on Xbox 360. It didn't really change up the gameplay of the franchise too much, but it completely took away its soul, and you have to wonder exactly who they thought the game would appeal to? They basically pulled away everything that attracted the core demographic, as if that has ever been a smart idea.
