15 Best Open-World Video Games Of The Decade (So Far)

11. Batman: Arkham Knight

Although Warner Bros' handling of Arkham Knight's Season Pass and PC release have been a blazing dumpster fire, the base game is by far and away the ultimate Batman experience. From the hulking roar of the Batmobile as you summon it and burn off down Gotham's backstreets, to the feel of landing a punch on the last of an entire room of thugs, there's just nothing else out there that makes you feel like The Dark Knight himself. That extends to the world as well, as although each 'Most Wanted' mission (where you take down everyone from Riddler to Penguin, Hush and more) only last a few minutes, that's essentially the point; it factors into the notion of Batman rounding up his Rogues Gallery in one last night of incredibly arduous crime-solving. As dawn comes the status of The Bat in Gotham is completely different than ever before, and as Arkham Knight pays homage to everything from the past games to the Animated Series in multiple direct ways, it's easily the best Batman game of all time.
