15. The Witcher 2: Assassins Of Kings

Starting with probably the most straight-up mature fantasy tale this side of Game of Thrones, The Witcher's approach to storytelling is to throw you into the boots of one Geralt of Rivia, the last of the titular breed of 'Witchers' that roam the lands with a bundle of swords and spells, essentially as supernatural bounty hunters. Intrigued yet? You should be. Being based on a string of novels by the wondrous (yet under-appreciated) Andrzej Sapkowski, developers CD Projekt RED had more than enough lore and character-based narrative to pull from, leading them all the way up to this year, and the final instalment of Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. CD Projekt are apparently including making Wild Hunt to allow for new players to hop right in, but to miss out on this phenomenal instalment in an already-legendary series would be to do a disservice to any fantasy RPG fan.
