15 Most Anticipated Video Games Of 2018

By far the most exciting new property to be announced in 2017 was Bioware's Anthem. With the studio moving away from singleplayer narrative-driven RPGs for the first time, their upcoming open-world online shooter is a huge departure from the games that made them famous.

That isn't a bad thing though, and the tenants of what made the developer's back catalogue so memorable - the stories, the characters and creative worlds they inhabited - still look to be the focus of the upcoming release.

However, it's clear the dynamic has shifted, and after years of toying with the idea, Bioware are going all out to create a shooter that can rival the likes of Destiny.

Developers and publishers are clearly all in on "games as services", and if Bioware are going to be forced to follow suit, Anthem looks like the perfect way for the studio to evolve without losing its greatest strengths.
