15 Most Difficult Gaming Moments Of 2014

15. Finishing A 12-Car Race On The Podium With No Collisions ("Cleanup" Trophy) - Driveclub

The Challenge: To earn the coveted "Cleanup" trophy, you must complete a 12-car race on the podium (in the top three) without receiving a single collision penalty for hitting other cars. It is largely agreed to be the most difficult trophy in the game and as a result the largest obstacle to snagging the Platinum trophy. Why It's So Difficult: Because Driveclub's racer AI isn't afraid to play dirty, and you'll still get a penalty even if the AI crashes into you, so short of staying ahead of the pack from early on, there aren't many ways to avoid this. In regular play, avoiding collisions is close to impossible while maintaining podium position during a race with so many rivals, and the game's abundance of rubber-banding doesn't help either. The lame way to get the trophy is to boost it with friends online, but if you want the glory of doing it properly, using Hot Hatch cars will allow you a little lee-way with paint scrapes that won't register a penalty. Pick a map with a lot of straights, and as long as you can secure first place by lap 2, all you need to do is cruise to the finish. Easier said than done, though.
