13. Devolver Digital Loses Their Collective Mind At E3
Instead of going the traditional route of holding a press conference at E3 to announce what's coming, Devolver Digital decided to host a pre-recorded "conference" that both mocked the gaming industry and E3.
It goes from 0-100 very fast, as the host fires a gun into the air to stop the audience from applauding, and then reloads and fires off a couple more for safe measure. Then came a stab at microtransactions, as Devolver Digital showcased a game that allowed you to pay for things in game by literally throwing money at the screen.
As if things weren't already out of hand, it gets even wilder.
Exploding heads, severed arms, a lot of fake blood and some strobe lights for effect turn the whole thing upside down. Think of something akin to the Too Many Cooks video that took the Internet by storm and you've pretty much got the Devolver Digital "conference" nailed down.
Admittedly, this isn't as much of an embarrassing moment as it is a "what in the actual hell did I just watch" kind of moment that cannot go overlooked. Some who didn't connect with the very over the top satirical performance will call this an embarrassing display, while others will call it genius.
One thing is for certain, embarrassing or genius, this is an E3 moment that will certainly be remembered.
