15 Things Only Fallout Fans Will Understand

Never leave the keys in the ignition, and never leave a Fusion Core in your Power Armour.

If you were to name any game with one of the most dedicated and passionate communities backing up every aspect of it, you need look no further than Fallout. From the original top-down RPG style that permeated the two originals, through Bethesda's acquisition and changing of the core feel to more of a first-person adventure and now Fallout 4's mainstream-dominating shooter-happy success, it's been one hell of a ride. Thankfully, Bethesda know exactly how to please the millions worldwide with all sorts of references and easter eggs, but in helping build a string of suitably gigantic worlds, they've continued to foster a wicked sense of humour, with some brilliant nods and a smattering of things only fans of the various wastelands will really identify with. So, if you find yourself knowing your Institutes from your Enclaves, your Pip-Boys from your Vault-Boys and your Super Mutants from your Super Behemoths, step right in - and don't forget to leave some of your own experiences in the comments below.

15. Spending Hours Allocating Your SPECIAL Points... Then Immediately Regretting It

"Are you sure you want to proceed?" each Fallout always asks, like some future-self reminding you that maybe that extra point in Strength would be better placed in Charisma. You never know how it's going to pan out, and how could you? Into a stat tree accompanied by your best guess it goes, but like saying no to dessert after a hearty meal, the second you've committed it's always an immediate "HEYNOWAIT!" reaction every time.
