16 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2017

2. Star Wars Battlefront 2

It was all going so well. An original Empire-focused single player campaign, the promise of free DLC, a better balanced Star Card system and access to four times the amount of maps across the board.

Offline play, more heroes and villains, up-rezzed graphics and more force power than you can shake a lightsaber at... It all sounded so good.

Battlefront 2 is - regardless of how much EA and DICE rejig their numbers on a daily basis - is the most disappointing game of 2017 by sheer virtue of building up so much good will, and squandering every last morsel of it. The campaign discards its unique hook after just an hour in, and the multiplayer, boy, at time of writing the online multiplayer is a complete mess.

All player unlocks and progression are tied to a random loot system that - despite EA removing the microtransaction model to level the playing field - still has no bonafide way to play a class, or actually feel like you're entering into matches that are fairly balanced.
