10. The Exploits Of Henry Avery Are Mostly True

While the previous three Uncharted games were based around ancient myths of yore, Uncharted 4 took a more grounded approach and focused on the very real exploits of the notorious pirate king Henry Avery. Avery was one of the most successful pirates to ever exist, so much so that his accomplishments - of which there are many - inspired others to follow down the life of piracy in the hope of attaining everlasting riches.

Even Libertalia, the failed pirate paradise the Brothers Drake discover at the end of the game, is based on some truth.

Supposedly, Avery amazingly evaded capture and death all his life, retired with his profits within Libertalia - though there is no evidence to prove it ever existed beyond written accounts, which are dubious.
