21. Microsoft's "Play Anywhere" Only Supports Digital Games

E3 saw Microsoft introduce their Play Anywhere service, where gamers can buy select games on either Xbox One or Windows 10 and be able to play it on the other platform without needing to buy a second copy.

It's a great idea, though sadly will only work for digital games, which kills a lot of the appeal for those who still buy physical either for collecting, for selling in the future, or because digital storefronts can be more expensive than retail.

While it makes sense from Microsoft's perspective to operate in this way, as policing physical copies would be much more difficult, couldn't they give every physical copy of each game a serial number that ties it to an Xbox Live account or something like that?

On one hand it's a consumer-friendly move, but on the other, it also entices gamers to place more power and trust in the hands of Microsoft.
