Considering it's one of the best-selling games of all time, you might be surprised to learn that certain copies of Super Mario Bros. for the NES can fetch tens of thousands of dollars. There are several different versions of the game that can dictate whether or not it's worth a large amount.

A sealed copy of the game in its normal packaging can be worth anything from around $600, while an unsealed boxed version is unlikely to reach anything higher than $200. However, the most valuable is one with rare Asian artwork, with one copy selling for $25,000 on eBay.

3. Uncharted 2: Fortune Hunter Edition

Platform: Playstation 3 Released: 2009 Potential Sealed Price: $12,000 Potential Used/Worn Price: $9,500 The extremely rare Uncharted 2: Fortune Hunter Edition was only possible to obtain by winning a limited competition held by Sony, with only 200 ever made.

Containing an incredible art book and intricately modelled dagger replica, it's one of the most lavish collector's editions every made. If you were one of the lucky winners and you're short on cash, then worry not, you're sitting on a gold mine.

Sealed versions have gone for over $11,000, but even used versions have been sold in excess of $9,000.
