30 Cutest Video Game Characters Of All Time

Some video game characters though are just so darn cute that you wished they were real just so you could hug them.

Video games are full of all sorts of characters. Perhaps those that have had the biggest impact on the industry though are the cutest ones. Sweet characters are capable of paving new ground in allowing the young and old to play games together. Everyone can relate to them and over the years they have broken boundaries of games by giving feminine and less powerful characters lead roles. Some of the most memorable characters from games have been the adorable ones that can be instantly recognised. They have become mascots of entire franchises and their mere presence in a game will help it sell millions of copies. The greatest can even become cultural phenomena. You can find hundreds of Pikachu and Angry Birds toys, lunch boxes and accessories scattered in shops all over the world. While a select few, like Super Mario, enter the public consciousness in such that it€™s impossible to find someone who is not aware of who they are. This list will count down the cutest characters that have ever appeared in video games, from the world famous to the relatively unknown.

30. Mieu

Mieu is a Cheagle who joined the protagonist of Tales of the Abyss after being exiled from his tribe. He has something of a role similar to Navi in Ocarina of Time and is occasionally disliked and chastised by his companion during the game. The two do eventually become close friends though. With gigantic ears, a warm blue hue and huge shimmering eyes he certainly fills up the cute meter. The fact that he looks like a toddler holding an inflatable swimming ring at all times only serves to make him look that little bit more innocent. As the game goes on he begins to lose his annoying tendencies, becoming much more entertaining and friendly. By the end you€™ll never want to be without him again.

29. Slippy The Toad

Slippy is one of the flagship characters of the Star Fox series. He first appeared in Star Fox and has further appeared in every game in the series since then. Now Slippy might not look particularly sweet but he has one huge redeeming feature in that he is the hapless chap of the group. Clumsiness can sometimes be attractive in characters and Slippy manages to pull it off without being too annoying. Combined with his childlike voice this toad is certainly someone we€™d miss. It€™s a good thing that people like him though, because you€™ll be helping him out of plenty of scrapes next time you ply a Star Fox game.

28. Blob

The blob from A Boy and His Blob first appeared in 1989 but gathered more attention when it was in the reimagining of the game for the Wii in 2009. The game is a puzzle platformer where you must overcome a variety of obstacles using a large white blob. He€™s a roundish character that looks as if he is made of white jelly. All the blob wants to do is help out his friend. While bouncing along with you he can transform into a variety of helpful items, like into a parachute if you are falling. He does this by eating small jellybeans; a lovely little quirk that demonstrates the spirited personality of the blog perfectly. The developers of the game seem to have realised how cute they had made the Blob. They included a button in the game that does nothing but allow you to hug him when he's near.
