36. South Park: The Stick Of Truth – March 5th

(Xbox 360, PS3, Windows)

In definite contrast to the four games before it in this list, South Park: The Stick of Truth offers a completely different type of gameplay.  In the form of an RPG, the game seems to be loosely based on the South Park episode ‘The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring  to The Two Towers’. Trying not to take itself too seriously, the Stick of Truth is packed full of unique South Park cut scenes and is a must-buy for any South Park fan.

35. Tomb Raider – March 5th

(Xbox 360, PS3, Windows)

I could not have been more disappointed with the last two Tomb Raider games – they lacked imagination, cutting-edge and were too linear.  Therefore it’s good to see that from what we have seen so far, this seems to have changed: the graphics are superb, the gameplay seems similar to Uncharted, which surely can only be a good thing, and there is rumoured to be a far bigger emphasis on exploring and moving around the island.

34. SimCity – March 5th

(Windows)

I haven’t played SimCity in years, but watching the trailer for the latest SimCity, scheduled for release in March, gave me a sense of nostalgia.  I was amazed at how much had changed, not counting graphics which is an obvious step-up, since I last played a SimCity game when I was around 10 years old, and I’m definitely really excited for this release.

33. God of War: Ascension – March 12th

(PS3)

On the 12th of March, God of War: Ascension, the staggering 7th game in the God of War series, will be released.  For me, God of War is a series that is always at its best, the graphics are always sensational  the story-line mesmerising and the fighting dynamics simply breathtaking.  Moreover, God of War: Ascension is a prequel to the series, meaning that we’ll learn a lot more about the character of Kratos.  A PS3 exclusive with a revamped weapon system and an array of new puzzles, God of War is one of the games I’m most looking forward to in 2013.
