41 Must Buy Video Games Of 2014

23. Octodad: Deadliest Catch €“ Q1; Rumored March (PS4)

Here€™s a game that looks so zany and ludicrous, it€™s impossible not to just take one look at it and its premise and say €œWe need more silly and comedic experiences like this€! Your goal is take control of an Octopus masquerading himself as a humanoid loving father and husband, without breaking disguise. This results in mundane tasks like barbecuing transcending into total laugh riots as you fumble around with intentionally offbeat control schemes. Everyone that has gotten some hands-on time with this gem has had glowingly positive things to say, so keep your eyes peeled on this one hitting PSN.

22. The Wolf Among Us Continuation €“ Q1 (PS3, 360, PC, Vita)

I€™m not familiar at all with the Fables line of comics, but Episode 1 pretty much shattered my middling expectations and proved to the industry that Telltale€™s success with The Walking Dead was not a fluke, and that their writing team is that damn good. The idea of romanticized fairy tale characters such as the Big Bad Wolf, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and more are making for excellent characters surrounding a suspenseful and grim noir murder mystery. Hopefully Episode 2 releases as soon as possible.

21. The Walking Dead: Season 2 Continuation €“ Q1 (PS3, 360, PC, Vita)

On the flipside, Season 2 of The Walking Dead will spill over into 2014 with undoubtedly much anticipation. Season 1 really struck an emotional chord with darn near everyone that touched it, and left them foaming for more. I can only imagine that playing as Clementine directly will cause more heart palpitations and leave our palms sweaty throughout each dialogue choice and QTE. Get your tissue box ready for another wave of heartbreaking moments and gritty zombie apocalypse storytelling.
