5 Awesome Games That Deserve Sequels

Gamers are a very passionate community. Our experiences with franchises vary, but what most share in common is that when we feel that hair-raising love, we develop this inherent need to defend these games when being mistreated by the public or the industry. Sadly not every franchise is guaranteed success or sequels, no matter the devotion. It could be the caused by a lack of sales, developers closing their studios or perhaps an oversight for a potential new IP. Whatever the reason, it's my strong belief that these franchises should be given a second chance, for the great quality of work these developers created shouldn't disappear. With each of these franchises I've listed, they all offer something new and fresh to an industry where gaming is becoming linear and generic.

5. Star Wars Republic Commando

It's understandable if every self proclaimed Star Wars fan says being a Jedi is undoubtedly cooler than a Stormtrooper, Republic Commando however showed how amazing it is to be the best of the best from clone stock. Its story premise was very simple, being commandos, their main purpose was for high risk high reward missions. I's gameplay was for the most part very generic, but what made it unique were the Star Wars aspects. Visors which linked up with each commando in their squad detailing their health and where-abouts, as well as CQC residue from Droids, Geonosians etc, being wiped off by the helmet's automatic clearing program. They also had a interchangeable weapon that could change from to a blaster rifle, sniper rifle and an anti-armor grenade launcher. These are but a few notable things that make it a thrilling experience. With today's gaming market being filled with FPS's, it would be a no brainier that this franchise be given a sequel. Can you imagine the gameplay and Michael Bay set pieces of Modern Warfare being mixed with Star Wars, but having a great story which can either revolve around fighting for the Republic or hunting down the Rebel Alliance, I rest my case.
