5 Best Single Player Co-Op Experiences

Portal/Still Alive/Portal 2

portal The portal franchise is a personal favourite of mine and I have enjoyed playing through them on numerous occasions on my own, or while I watch a friend try and figure out a puzzle as I giggle into myself at their failure. First timers can have a lot of fun with the solo campaign with a group of friends as each person chimes in their opinion on where the orange or blue portal should be placed. A process of trial and error, depending on how much you trust your friends, can lead to hilarity and frustration as you can single out the weak minded of the group and proceed to bully them once you€™re finished playing. There€™s nothing more satisfying than solving a game like Portal all by yourself though, but if you€™re more inclined to having some company sit with you while you both get the brain sweats figuring out how to escape a room and proceed to cake, then Portal is one of the most perfect games for single player companionship. Not to mention the hilarious quips and gags from Wheatley in the Portal 2 single player campaign. Just knowing a second person in the room is laughing at the dialogue can make you feel a little more comfortable knowing you€™re not the only uber geek in the room. The second pair of eyes comes in handy but so can the second set of ears. It€™s always nice to have someone you trust tell you just how horrible, cackley and snorty your laugh is so you can control it around members of the opposite sex when on one of those seductive nights in town.
