5 Reasons You Should Be Playing Gone Home Right Now

5: It's A Beautifully Atmospheric Piece

Gonehome Tvroom Light The minute you begin Gone Home you find yourself out on a porch in front of your house with nothing but your backpack and luggage for company. There is the steady crashing of heavy rain. There is a note taped to the door from your sister Sarah, she has gone away. This all reminded me of Slender: The Arrival and I was gearing myself up for a rather jumpy horror experience. As you go through the front door, those expectations were justified. The dark house is absolutely dripping with an eerie unsettling atmosphere. It really feels like something has gone down here. Half the lights are on, half the lights are off (for some reason I was more freaked out by the ones that were left on). TVs are left switched onto static. Pizza boxes lay about the place. It's all a damn mess, and the entire house is yours for the exploring. Aside from a few locked areas, the choice of in what order to tackle it is up to you. But be sure, that everywhere you go, you can't help but feel eyes on you. It's really rather breathtaking how freaked out you can get by a pizza box.
