5 Signs You're Too Old For Gaming

5. You Never Finish Games

494414-a-r-e-s-extinction-agenda-windows-screenshot-game-over-screens Every game, no matter what genre or generation, has some sort of campaign or story for its players to attempt to work their way through. Whether it's due to a compelling narrative, original gameplay perspective or just personal pride at stake, nearly every player will plough hours of effort into completing them. The feeling of success and satisfaction players get after guiding a protagonist through a game's campaign is one all gamers relish and love to achieve, but not everybody will get there. As players get older and gain other responsibilities or distractions in their life the opportunities to get through these campaigns, some of which can take up to forty hours to complete, become few and far between. As a result older players may find more and more of their games left to gather dust on the shelves, never to bestow the feelings of joy that are associated with "beating" them. Nevermind a game's 'replay value'; some gamers will barely even be getting a complete first playthrough. Of course there are some players who may not even bother with a game's campaign, and that's of course fine. The way gaming has evolved in recent years means there are far more ways to play and enjoy them than just playing through the single player levels. These gamers are likely utilising the online or multiplayer options and will most probably be putting the twenty to forty hours the campaign demands into these games instead. Their lack of completion is through the prioritising of a more social gaming experience rather than getting stuck with everyday priorities like family or, God forbid, work.
