5 Things Nintendo Can Do Differently

5 ways to turn around Nintendo's recent decline.

Nintendo Everyone knows that Nintendo doesn't need any sort of introduction. They have been the pinnacle of gaming all throughout the 80's, and 90's. However, by the turn of the century it wasn't as smooth sailing for the home of Mario. Sales plummeted, fans turned to the more graphically enhanced Sony and Microsoft products. Now the future is bleak for Nintendo, and the Wii U hasn't done much to help. In fact, some may argue that the Wii U has hurt Nintendo. Panned early by critics because of its clunky controller design and lack of blockbuster games, the Wii U was everything that they simply didn't want it to be. With the success of the Wii, it wasn't no big surprise that Nintendo wanted to do something similar. But it turns out that they did things, maybe a little too similar. Here are the 5 things Nintendo (as a whole) can do differently.

5. Emphasize Handhelds

Nintendo has done more than enough right when it comes down to their handhelds. In the first year of the 3DS, the system sold 29.64 million total units. The following year, the sales jumped to 88.16 million, and 2013? 141,29 million. So with the numbers growing that quickly, why not focus more on that? I know that sales typically increase over time, but that's no slow jump. That's quite a leap if you ask me. With that said, Nintendo should be pushing for the 3DS as much as possible. I haven't seen many commercials for the Wii U, let alone the 3DS. With the PS4 already catching up on the Wii U, it's about time that Nintendo should just cut their losses with the Wii U. Heck, maybe make a good release for it every now and then. Maybe even a good Super Smash Bros. Bundle when it gets released. But for now, I'd be pushing the 3DS even more.
