5 WTF Moments That Almost Killed Resident Evil

1. Pretty Much Everything About Resident Evil 6

resident-evil-6-characters-600x300 It wasn't hard to guess that this was how this list was going to conclude. Resident Evil 6 is a baffling series of terrible decisions. A campaign split in four, with four different playstyles, and four different sets of characters gives the entire game a turbulent choppy feel with no real attachment to anything. The story is so melodramatic and 'epic' that it's hard to even care if anyone lives or dies. All that wrapped up with the shooty shooty nature of Chris' campaign and a new strain of zombie-type things that can shoot back and it's all just a colossal mess. Resident Evil 6 has a horrible identity crisis, trying to compete with action-blockbuster titles, while continually giving the middle finger to long time fans of the series. Moving and shooting at the same time is over-rated and an over emphasis on QTEs makes this feel less and less like Resident Evil and more like a generic slog through an uninteresting story with uninteresting characters that isn't worth anyone's time. The good thing is it seems Capcom have taken notice and Resident Evil 7 could be a stellar return for the franchise. Emphasis on the could.
