With Tomb Raider’s rebirth not far away now, it’s a good a time as any to look at all the video game vixens that get us all hot and bothered.

Video games have offered us many strong female roles through their now long and illustrious history, rather than having them just being trophies or motivations for heroes, they have evolved into saviors or great villains on their own terms. They are no longer second class citizens in need of saving, or included for their good looks, so we can now celebrate them in those terms without reinforcing the destructive stereotypes of the medium.

Today we examine the top 50 sexiest girls in video games: we praise them for their intelligence, accomplishments, personality,  and likability. Also, smoking hot looks don’t hurt their cause either.

50. Cortana (Halo Series)

Cortana

Cortana is an Artificial Intelligence from the Halo series whose role in the game is to direct you from objective to objective, but she’s so much more than that. Throughout the series, Cortana becomes more and more defined as a character, and she becomes more than a guide as the series progresses, even taking a key role in the narrative of the latest Halo game. For the early Xbox owners, she was a definitive character, and it helped that she was easy on the eyes.

49. Purna (Dead Island)

Purna

You’re stuck on the island Banoi, where Zombies have taken over – so what do you do? Easy. You pick the person who’s the only the firearms expert on the island, and use your fury skill and unleash a powerful revolver to those walkers. According to their backstory, Purna was an officer who lost her job when she shot a child molester who wouldn’t be convicted due to wealth and connections. She also plans on finishing the job after she’s done. That’s a plus in my book.
