6. The Dog (Duck Hunt)
Duck Hunt for the NES was a fantastic technological achievement that popularised the light gun shooter games on home consoles. The basic premise of the game was simple enough - shoot as many ducks as possible in as few shots as you can manage. Whenever a round was complete, your trusted canine companion would bound off into the grass to retrieve your fallen prey, proudly displaying them in front of you with a huge smile fo pride on his adorable little face. Unless, of course, you missed every duck. If you failed to hit any targets in a round, any previous feelings of affection for this dog go flying into the distance, along with the ducks. He will appear from behind the grass and chuckle at you with a laugh that is so incredibly annoying, words cannot describe it. Feel free to check it out on YouTube. The dog is a jerk because the player already feels bad for having a bad round, yet Chuckles up there decides to rub salt in the wounds. What an asshat.
