7 PS4 Games To Consider Before Committing To A Console

7. The Order: 1886

The Order 1866 The Order: 1886 is a bit of a weird one to me. Much in the same vain of Quantum Break, really all that much isn't known about it. Besides a short trailer at E3 it is hard to know exactly what the game is and what to expect. What we do know is that the game is going to be coming from God of War creators Santa Monica Studios and is set in an alternate fantasy reality. Set in 1886, the industrial revolution was actually started as a way to defend against an 'inhuman' enemy. It seems the game is going to be fitting into the steam punk, industrial yet still futuristic monster hunting mold. (See Van Helsing and the Soloman Kane film as forgettable tangents of this genre) It is not something that is massively original and that has got me a little skeptical. It is a sub-genre that has been well explored before, rarely well at that, so there is a smidgen of worry on my part about the game because of it. However, it also gives me hope because Santa Monica Studios will surely know of the genre's short comings and wouldn't put their eggs in this new basket if they didn't have a new spin and a great story to tell. Really all we have to go on at this point is is a cinematic trailer that didn't tell us a great deal about the game. At this point, it is near impossible to know how this one is going to turn out. Although, Santa Monica Studios really do make fantastic games full of awe and spectacle. It is easy to give them the benefit of the doubt for the moment. Maybe we should wait until we know a little bit more about the game until we are singing its praise.
