7 Shared Universe Video Game Theories That Might Actually Be True

7. Bethesda's Universe

The theory is that Fallout, Skyrim and the leaked space adventure 'Starfield' share the same universe - all being related in terms of specific events.

The major link is the appearance of a plant called Nirnroot, one of the most notable plants in the Elder Scrolls Universe, within Fallout 4.

Not only is the plant shown, but in the computer logs, it is described near identically to its appearance in the Elder Scrolls - identified by the abbreviation, NRT.

It's proposed that despite the technological differences between the two games, Fallout is in fact the precursor to Elder Scrolls, with the wasteland giving away to the continent of Tamriel. The radiation would certainly explain the lizard and cat people, and while some specifics don't exactly line up, the lore behind both universes is ambiguous enough to allow for such connections.

The theory was given more credence when the leaker behind Starfield explicitly stated the game would heavily deal with tying the other two titles together, allowing for a shared universe going forwards.

At time of writing, nothing from within the leak has been confirmed, despite such heavy implications of it being true.

I like video games, writing and writing about video games. Expect sarcasm and the dry wit of a Brit. And the occasional rant of a unhappy Scot. You know... the usual.
