7 Upcoming PS4 Exclusives That Could Beat God Of War

Will they topple Kratos himself?

God Of War Death Stranding
Sony

Anyone who owns a PS4 will tell you that there has been no shortage of absolutely stellar exclusive games this generation. From masterpieces like Bloodborne and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, to bold new pastures for renowned developers such as Horizon: Zero Dawn, Sony's machine has continued to deliver on the goods year after year.

No exclusive seems to have made quite the impact of Sony Santa Monica's God of War however. The game reinvented a popular character and franchise with skill and finesse, resulting in one of the best rated games of all time on Metacritic. Now that God of War has come and gone however, it's time to look to the PS4's future, where there are still plenty of new exclusives coming.

God of War sets an incredibly high bar to reach, but with the tremendous effort and skill displayed by Sony's first-party developers so far, there's no reason why these upcoming exclusives can't topple the God of War himself. What's truly clear however is that if you're a PS4 owner, you've still got plenty of good times to be had over the next few years.

7. WiLD

God Of War Death Stranding
Ubisoft

Alright, so WiLD hasn't been seen for a long time. The game was publicly revealed at Gamescom way back in 2014, then shown off against at Paris Games Week 2015. After that, there was silence. Director and writer Michel Ancel posted about the game's development in 2017, confirming it is still alive at least. Despite the silence, WiLD is still heavily anticipated.

Set in a procedurally generated Neolithic world, the player controls a human shaman with the ability to take control of animals all across the game world. The game looks stunningly beautiful and appears to embody the weird and wonderful single-player experience that PlayStation has so wholeheartedly championed this generation.

The long development time without any real talk is concerning, and the last game to market itself on its procedural generation was No Man's Sky (hmm), but that doesn't mean people aren't excited. Michel Ancel is a decorated developer, creating the beloved Rayman franchise as well as the newly revived Beyond Good and Evil franchise, so it could be that he's pretty tied up right now. Still, keep an eye out for WiLD - it might just surprise everyone.
