8 Nintendo Franchises That Need To Come To The Switch

Every Nintendo console since the Gamecube has had a Pikmin instalment, even if they came in the form of ports for the Nintendo WII. It's an adorable franchise with a unique approach to gameplay, one which has only developed as Nintendo have tinkered and refined their approach to motion controls.

There's nothing like chucking your little plant friends around a lush garden environment, solving fun puzzles and defeating monsters to help rebuild your ramshackle spaceship. With the Switch and it's Joy-Cons, it seems like the franchise would be a perfect fit for the console.

Pikmin 3's mission mode paved the way for a true co-op campaign experience, and with the two detachable Joy-Cons and the simplistic controls, a new Pikmin game would work seamlessly. The graphical update could also add a whole new dimension to the fascinating creatures lurking in the undergrowth.

Miyamoto has been on record talking about the next iteration of the Pikmin franchise since 2014, so hopefully this is something in the pipeline alongside the side-scroller that is due out this year for the 3DS!
