8 Notions That Help To Explain BioShock Infinite's Ending

1. Bioshock Could Be Another Reality

2013-03-28_00129 This is a theory that lots of people have been throwing around in forums and such, but for me there isn't any 'concrete' evidence that confirms it. Although, I have to admit the theory certainly holds water (pun intended). The theory goes that Rapture is just another reality behind one of the doors in the light house section. Behind all the doors could be any number of realties and stories of insane cities and the story of a man, a girl and a lighthouse. This is based on something Elizabeth saying that it each story always starts with a lighthouse, just like the first Bioshock game. The implication being that the story of the first Bioshock is the exact same story of Bioshock Infinite, just with different "variables" with Booker being Jack, Elizabeth being the Little Sisters, Songbird being the Big Daddies and Andrew Ryan being Comstock. The similarities are stark but I would argue, so are the differences. In Rapture, there is no one little sister, you aren't there to save them, Jack and Andrew Ryan are very different entities etc. However, it can't be disproven and if it does turn out to be true, it creates quite and interesting little paradigm for the series to work in. The idea of there being an entirely different realty behind each and every one of those lighthouses is an exciting prospect. It would open up the universe of Bioshock to multiple possibilities while also always keeping it defined. I hope that solves some issues for you if you were having trouble figuring out some of the logic and timeline of the game. Quite a lot of the the finer details of the story are explained int he voxophones that you find scattered around that you might have miss, so I won't begrudge you for having missed anything. Do you think there is anything I missed or am completely wrong about? Please let me know how dumb and blind I am in the comments section below.
