8 Video Games With Despicably Short Run Times

starwarsforceunleashed For many there are a myriad of incentives to stick a game out until the end, the most obvious of which being good gameplay mechanics. A game with an absolute lack of narrative drive can still pull in the punters if it can deliver a satisfying metaphorical headshot, coin-grab or quest-line. Games are actually a medium that often favour overstretching elements far longer than that of movies or TV shows, as for the most-part, fun mechanics and the embodiment of a great character is something we all love to do for as long as possible. Herein lies a list of those games that should either have continued to let the good times roll, or those that are very obviously hankered by other elements In the modern age where game development budgets are so tight yet ambition is so high, for whatever reason a game sometimes fails to deliver and we're left feeling somewhat short-changed. Whilst replay-factor can often save it following lacklustre placement of an endpoint, if the run-up to said finishing line came way too soon, the remaining sour taste is immovable no matter how refreshing the first experience was.

Honourable Mention - Portal

Portal Portal gets something of a pass being that it was never meant as a fully-formed retail title. That being said its core mechanics are now the stuff of videogame legend, with A.I overseer GLaDOS being almost as popular and iconic as 2001: A Space Odyssey€™s HAL, even crossing over into the first Rock Band with her own song. Yet it€™s because of these things that many wanted the toy box of gravity-modification and trajectory-fumbling to stretch out a whole lot more. Despite its infinitely replayable €˜Test Chambers€™ that could be hurtled around with insanely tight controls, such fan-clamour would eventually be more than satiated with Portal II.
